Garlic Roasted Cabbage STEAKS

by Thursday, May 12, 2016

This is super easy, super filling but super light! If you have a taste for garlic you’ll LOVE this, the first time I made these cabbage rounds I ate half of the half of the head. Factor that there are about 325 calories in a medium sized cabbage and half a head is a full meal in itself – you save yourself many many calories by prepping this for lunch instead of even a colorful salad.

You will need:

  • 1 head of cabbage (i also tried a small purple cabbage in photos)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • Juice of 1 fresh lemon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • pepper or red pepper flakes to taste

Baking sheet / foil

I used my Magic Bullet to blend all ingredients – minus the cabbage BUT you can crush the garlic yourself  and whip everything together with a fork. The mix should be a little thick and perfect to spread.

Cut cabbage into 1 inch slices and lay flat onto lightly greased baking sheet.

Generously brush garlic mixture on top of each slice.

Bake at 375 for 35 – 45 minutes or until edges crisp.

*reheats amazingly

ENJOY!
