F-ood the Rest

urlIt’s Wednesday and that means its time to suggest a great healthy food or place to eat. I’ll start with something popular but not so simple. Sushi! Is fish and full of the ever beneficial and powerful protein. Fish is considered a brain food, and fish carry good fats, in particular the best kind of fat called Omega 3. Omega 3 fatty acids protect the nervous system and provide Vitamin D. The food and drug administration recommends that you allow 2 servings of fish a day. This could do wonders for you inside and out.

Ok sure the fish is raw, I can understand what the idea of eating eel with squid ink sauce could do to a first time sushi eater. But there are plenty of other choices that are less daring but still good for you. Try a California roll at first … which is just vegetables and crab meat wrapped in seaweed and rice. Each time you go try a new roll. I’m not expert on the subject but I have certainly come a long way (my parents would cringe at the things i’ve tried).

If in NYC, Hana Sushi, a place I frequent has great service and a nice atmosphere for a quick, fresh, healthy lunch … try the two roll combo deal. Like most other sushi houses it comes with a ginger salad or miso soup. Let me know how it goes … and Happy Dining!

i didnt know the whole fish thing was associated with immunity. I been eating fish very regularly since i left pgh and rarely have been sick. and have drank water regularly too…i believe that is associated with me not being sick.
