Banana Choco Protein Bites

Forever in search of the perfect “healthy – but satisfying” snack, I struggle with selection just like everyone else. The worst foods are the easiest accessible and also CHEAP. The strongest muscle I have against my cravings is my mind and I’ll admit – I don’t always win – i’m the MVP of justification.

I came across a super easy solution that also promotes a bit of energy care of protein peanut butter. These are actually sinfully delicious … but that’s probably because I used too much chocolate. Don’t make my mistake. enjoy!
Really simple, you only need 3 ingredients.

  • Bananas – 3
  • Chocolate chips – 6 ounces (I used dark chocolate)
  • Protein Peanut Butter (I used Nuts ‘N More Toffee Crunch)
  • sea salt (optional)

Instructions

Alter the recipe per serving depending on how many bites you want to make, you have full control over the thickness of the banana cuts and the amount of chocolate you use.

Cut bananas as thick as you like. I put them on skewers to avoid a mess with the peanut butter, but that failed horrendously. So lay them flat on a line cookie sheet and drizzle on peanut butter – I made a mess of it, but sometimes food aint pretty! I put the banana, peanut butter mounds in the freezer for about an hour. While the bananas are setting, melt the chocolate, mixing until smooth then set aside to cool. Once the chocolate is room temperature and the bananas are hard drizzle your desired amount of chocolate over then put them back in the freezer. Another hour should do well. Once these were done I put them in a plastic baggie and left them in the freezer to snack at will. These bites hit the spot – because the dark chocolate is so rich and the peanut butter so thick – I only need 2 or 3 to sustain my craving. You will ENJOY these.
